"iPlay"
In 2007, almost 300,000 children have some type of cancer.
300,000 that we know of in the United States.
Cancer is the general name for a group of more than 100 diseases.
Cell in a part of the body begins to grow out of control.
Depending on the type of cancer, many children are tied down to a hospital bed for many days
due to treatments.
Some treatment require needles and other equipments that may feel
uncomfortable and even hurt cancer children.
At age ranging from new born until 19 you can imaging all they're going through,
their pain and suffering.
How can we make their stay at the hospital more fun and entertaining??
At a regular playground where children come together and have fun they are able
to meet new friends and be more socialize.
Every parent would want to take their child to a fun day at a park.
There are also indoor playgrounds.
Indoor playgrounds are a better and more effective way for children to stay safe.
Parents won't have to worry about different type of bugs, the weather, or their child getting lost.
Of course there are many advantages to indoor playgrounds.
I want to design an indoor playground in some of the largest
cancer hospital in the United States.
These indoor playgrounds will be called "iPlay"
"iPlay" will not just be a regular playground you can find at a park or
an indoor playground area.
"iPlay" will be created eco-friendly to the environment.
There are plenty of Green technologies and Green building that can be use.
Also, because cancer children are very delicate, germs are unacceptable.
Germs are not allowed at "iPlay"
They will enjoy their visit more instead of dreading every step into the hospital.
